| Abstract: |
The article presents the plan of the American Electric Power Co. to deploy a new asset inventory system based on the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology in Columbus, Ohio. It discusses the goal, vegetative threat, and implementation of the new system. This project does not only aim to comply with vegetation management but also to determine how LiDAR can enhance the right-of-way (ROW) clearing, engineering, and overall asset management strategies of state power companies. |
