| Abstract: | The article reports on a study which develops a transposon-based approach for the random mutagenesis of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides small colony (SC). According to the authors of the study, transposon insertion sites were screened using a PCR-based method to evaluate the diversity of mutants within the library. The three loci with genes involved in the pathogenicity of M. mycoides subsp. mycoides SC were search, including gtsABS operon, glpO gene and the lppQ gene. The study showed that the mutant was found to express only residual amounts of the truncated N-terminal end of lppQ. |
