Abstract: The article focuses on the perspective of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) on the industry activities like standards, technology developments and policies which affect television receivers. It provides economic forecast on the revenues of the consumer electronics market, which is at $173 billion in 2008 and $183 billion in 2009. An overview of the converter box market, DTV (digital television) market, and technology and standards activities of CEA are also provided.
