| Abstract: | This work presents a novel design of power/ground planes with electromagnetic bandgap structures for suppressing wide-band simultaneous switching noise. A serpent bridge is used to increase the effective inductance between adjacent cells in a given electromagnetic bandgap structure. The suppression frequency ranges from 0.27 GHz to 20 GHz, and the simultaneous switching noise in this range are attenuated by 20 dB. Experimental results indicate that the proposed structure is better than existing bandgap structures and can suppress noise over a wide frequency range. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
