| Abstract: | The article presents a study which explores the origin of existence of plutonium tetroxide. It particularly focuses on the hypothesis that plutonium tetroxide was obtained in alkaline solutions, solid and gas phases, and matrix systems. The findings of the study indicate that organic phase of non-polar solvents comprise neutral molecules of the octavalent plutonium's unidentified compound in the form of corresponding tetroxide. |
