The Sun being the nearest star, provides us a unique opportunity to study stellar processes in sufficient detail to test theories of stellar structure and evolution. Although the solar interior is not directly accessible to observations, development of helioseismology during the last three decades has enabled us to study the structure and dynamics of solar interior with unprecedented accuracy.
