Abstract: The article discusses the highlights of the 2009 International Conference on Software Engineering. It presents a summary of the workshop's position papers and breakout group sessions with focus on expanding software engineering to all types of computational science engineering (CSE). Breakout sessions answered queries such as identifying methods to facilitate communication, measuring productivity and ways to develop community software. The conference recommends the characterization of CSE communities and identification of its industry segments.
