| Abstract: | The article focuses on the provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) on apparel and textile fabrics in the U.S. It provides definition of the law on a consumer product, a children's product, a child's toy and a childcare article. The law mandates apparel and textile industries to conduct flammability, lead and phthalates tests of their products and document their test programs. It also requires tracking labels in products for children. |
