Supplier Hanil E-Hwa, a global supplier of interior automotive plastic trim components, has achieved weight reductions of five to 13 percent in a number of components by replacing talc filler with glass bubbles in a polypropylene compound from 3M. Clariant has introduced new color masterbatches that are formulated for use in biopolymer applications. The plastics additives division of BASF claims that its CGX UVA 006 is the best performing ultraviolet (UV) absorber for plastics.
