| Abstract: |
The noise conversion properties of a W-band PHEMT-based frequency quadrupler have been investigated. The study includes the experimental evaluation of the quadrupler amplitude-modulated to phase-modulated (AM-PM) conversion coefficient and its implications in the phase noise degradation. The results show that this effect must be taken into account at offset frequencies where the input PM/AM noise ratio is poor. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
