Abstract: The article presents a review of the study which describes the three-way catalysis of nitric oxide emissions and abatement systems in lean-burn engines. It explores the strategies in selective reduction of emissions from heavy duty vehicles using urea in the development of iron-based catalysis on acidic materials. The authors believe that a complex system is needed to reduce the bad effects of engine efficiency and fuel consumption through material catalysis or by adding reformates.
