| Abstract: | The Native POSIX Thread Library (NPTL) fully supports the Portable Operating System Interface for Unix (POSIX) threads, which is one of the most popular interfaces for multithreading applications. This library has been gradually improved to meet the requirements of real-time systems but currently fits only soft real-time systems. This paper explains why the library fails to meet the requirements of hard real-time systems and tries to eliminate the reasons of it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
