| Abstract: | The article presents the efficacy of tolerance rings in reducing vibration and noise in electric motor of mechanical devices and equipment in the U.S. To reduce the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), manufacturers used press fitting, adhesive solutions and tolerance rings. Results of a study shows that tolerance ring is the most efficient of the three methods because it efficiently disrupts vibration by serving as a spring and it rreduces transmissibility as well. |
