| Abstract: | The article discusses the lack of available content for viewing on three-dimensional high-definition televisions (3D HDTVs), noting that the price of 3D-capable HDTVs may discourage consumer adoption of the technology if there is not sufficient programming which supports it. An overview is provided of the current sources of 3D HDTV content, including 3D Blu-ray video discs, broadcast television, and internet streaming content. The 2D to 3D image conversion feature of some 3D HDTVs is also evaluated. The author argues that 3D HDTVs are worth the investment until more 3D programming becomes available. |
