| Abstract: | The author offers opinions on environmental aspects of household electronics and personal computers. It is argued that most computer users are unaware of the many hazardous materials used to construct electronic devices including mercury, polyvinyl chlorides and rare earths. Consumers are urged to attempt to repair rather than replace electronics, to resell or donate used devices and to dispose of them by recycling. |
