Abstract: The article focuses on the use of natural ventilation for airborne infection control in hospitals based on the guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO). It notes the dual roles of airflow direction in the transmission of airborne diseases. It suggests that 24 air changes per hour (ach) is the minimum ventilation rate, and mechanical or mechanically assisted ventilation methods should be activated in case natural ventilation cannot satisfy the requirement.
