Abstract: Highlights: [•] P25 is deactivated in Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction in the absence of EDTA. [•] EDTA preserves the P25 photocatalytic activity in the Cr(VI) reduction. [•] Cr(III) soluble complexes prevent Cr(III) deposition onto the TiO2 surface. [•] Activity preservation can be a general behavior of reducing oligocarboxylic acids.
