Abstract: The article offers the author's insights on sharing her gender identity as a queer woman to her students to help humanize queer issues that is faced by some of her students and to show ambivalence toward the queer community. Topics include the works of college teacher Karen Kopelson on sexual neutrality in the classroom, coming out as her way to ensure that her identities were read by her students to overcome homophobia, and supporting the queer and transgender people.
