Abstract: The author recounts the experience and outcome of participating in grant work or joining research teams for a collaboration between qualitative communication research and rhetorical perspectives of health and medicine is presented. Topics covered include recognition of the contributions of qualitative health, and the differences and commonalities that helped in the development of suggestions for scholars to engage and collaborate with one another.
