| Abstract (English): | We identified and studied mathematical knowledge involved in embroidery activities from the Hñahñu culture (also known as Otomi), from a semiotic and cultural perspective (Radford, 2006, 2013, 2014). The motivation that leads to this research is to test the viability of a teaching model (Filloy, Rojano & Puig, 2008) which considers the semiotic and cultural issues involved in the embroidery activity. This article is centered in the results of the analysis of isometric transformations (Jamie & Gutiérrez, 1995) that can be identified in the geometric shapes of the embroideries.
