Abstract: The article overviews the celebration of the 65th anniversary of nonprofit organization American Association of School Librarians (AASL), detailing its contribution and influence towards the development of school librarianship programs in the U.S. A brief historical information depicting the AASL role in the promotion and services for school librarians and librarianship services is explained. It also highlights the AASL role in developing professional education among school librarians.
