Abstract: The article focuses on instruction to develop the ability of students with disabilities to tackle complex texts. Topics discussed include performing reading comprehension tasks becomes more difficult for students with disabilities due to text complexity, Choosing Appropriate Complex Text guidelines suggesting use of Lexile levels to quantitatively evaluate text, and teachers being provided with practical assistance to make text selection choices.
