The author reflects on the benefits of being a library assistant at Forest Heights Elementary School in Columbia, South Carolina while studying for a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree at the University of South Carolina. Topics discussed include her overall elementary experience, ways she get a chance to promote children's and young adult literatures in library school, and significance of her interactions with Forest Heights teachers. |
