Abstract (English): The aim of this work is to explore the influence of a popular painting workshop as socio-cultural scenery in the process of self-reconstruction and the elaboration of personal memories of students. Popular painting workshops have not been normally studied as socio-cultural scenery. However, this type of informal educational workshop has become a very important educational and cultural context. The workshop we are going to study is located in a small village very close to the city of Seville (Spain). The data are obtained through two instruments: The Twenty Statements Test (TST) and through the collection of three personal memories related to the painting activity. For the analysis of the data, it will be adapted the classic categories systems created by Wang, (2001, 2004) and Wang and Leichtman, (2000). The analysis of the data shows that the socio-cultural scenery of the workshop moderates the differences between the students with the highest and lowest educational level in terms of the concept of the self and the characteristics of the memories. Public events, such as the participations in exhibitions, are observed in the memories of all participants as very significant scenarios. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
