Abstract (English): Academic achievement is defined as the appropriation of the contents proposed in the curricular programs by the student, reflected in the qualifications obtained by the student in his training process, the result of the development of the activities and other methodological strategies defined by the teacher. The factors with the greatest impact on academic performance are: the repetition of subjects, methods and pedagogical spaces not suitable for study, lack of professional orientation and methodological strategies. The objective of the present study was to analyze the variables associated with the academic performance of university students enrolled in the subject of Informatics of an institution of higher education. For the purposes of the study, a sample of the final grades of the course was taken beginning in the period 2015 -I and ending in 2016- II. Two instruments were used to collect information to identify whether the methodological strategy used by the teacher facilitated the learning process and whether the students had personal computer equipment. For the treatment of the data, the experimental design was used under a factorial arrangement whose study factors were the teacher that guided the subject, the professional program where the subject was taught and the disposition of a computer of own calculation by the students for practice at home; the results indicated that the interaction between the factors methodological strategies applied by the teacher and the technological limitations prevent the student from deepening the knowledge through the practice of influencing academic performance.
