Abstract: The article reports on how rural and small libraries provide vital infrastructure for communities in the U.S. Topics discussed include the importance of staying up-to-date in the community, so that programs do not compete with other activities, a food shelf created in Trinidad, Colorado, and the Babies & Books program for newborns to three-year-olds and Learn and Play for children in Stanley, Idaho.
