The article offers information regarding tips for asking higher level questions in book reading practices for young children in schools and with families. Topics discussed include methods for how to read with children to aid in their development of language and literacy varies; verbal interactions such as questioning and background knowledge sharing during book reading; and focus on explanatory, evaluative and imaginary information in contrast to simple yes/no questions. |
