| Abstract (English): | This article addresses the historical development of Mexico's Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (CONALEP) in terms of its institutional and curricular evolution. It also examines the linking strategies that are implemented and the effect of training on students and their experience. A documentary study and 20 interviews emphasize CONALEP's pioneering role in introducing multiple innovations in high school education and reveal how CONALEP continues to provide excellent job training in spite of the existing tension between academic education and vocational training. The study focuses on the potential of off-site training, which is not reflected in teaching practices, and the way that CONALEP guides students toward specific jobs and establishes the foundation for their job performance. | Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo aborda el desarrollo histórico del Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica en términos de su evolución institucional y curricular; examina las estrategias de vinculación que actualmente implementa y las experiencias y efectos de la formación que imparte a los alumnos. Con base en un estudio documental y 20 entrevistas, destaca su papel de pionero en la introducción de múltiples innovaciones en la educación media superior; evidencia cómo se mantiene como servicio de formación para el trabajo por excelencia y la tensión existente entre la formación académica y técnica; señala el potencial de los dispositivos de formación extramuros, cuyas experiencias no se retoman en la enseñanza, y cómo el Conalep encamina a los alumnos hacia áreas específicas de trabajo y sienta las bases para un potencial desenvolvimiento laboral [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
