| Abstract: | In this qualitative study, we explored 26 master's level counseling students' perceptions of their selfefficacy and group leadership development across three scaffolded group counseling experiences: (a) a first-semester membership in a counseling group led by a licensed counselor; (b) a third-semester membership, co-facilitation, and observation in a peer-led counseling group; and (c) a third semester cofacilitation of a counseling service group in a school or agency while participating in group supervision. Results revealed increased tolerance for ambiguity, appreciation for self-disclosure, an understanding of unique group facilitation skills, enhanced self-efficacy, and appreciation for observational learning coupled with supportive and constructive feedback.
