Abstract: In the article, the authors discuss the effectiveness of read-aloud activities to promote equity, empathy and awareness in young children, particularly in the U.S. Topics include the challenges faced by teachers in increasingly diverse classrooms in the country and the importance of introducing an anti-bias curriculum to promote self-worth and foster positive attitude towards cultural differences in all students.
