Abstract: The article discusses the considerations and recommendations for effective literacy co-teaching. Topics include teachers use different co-teaching approaches, a wide variety of literacy materials, and flexible small group instruction to differentiate reading instruction to accommodate the spectrum of reading skill levels; and students actively engage in authentic literacy tasks and work toward individualized goals which both teachers frequently monitor and assess.
