Abstract (English):	The objective of this article is to study doctoral education as an integral part of academic professions at universities, based on the narratives of the secretaries of research and graduate study in various academic units of the social and human sciences at Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina. Based on biographical narratives and in-depth interviews with in-service academics, the project focuses on the vital professional experiences of doctoral education; research scholarships and their unique characteristics in doctoral education; and lastly, the challenges of graduate study in terms of internationalization and virtual programs, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstract (Spanish):	Este artículo tiene por objetivo indagar la formación doctoral como parte integral de la profesión académica universitaria desde los testimonios de secretarios(as) de investigación y posgrado de diversas unidades académicas del campo de las ciencias sociales y humanas de la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Argentina. El trabajo recupera, desde una perspectiva metodológica biográfico-narrativa y de entrevistas en profundidad a académicos(as) en gestión, las experiencias vitales y profesionales que acontecen en la formación del doctorado; sus vínculos con las becas de investigación, las particularidades que estas asumen en relación con los estudios doctorales y, finalmente, los desafíos que el nivel de posgrado presenta a partir de la pandemia por COVID-19 en materia de internacionalización y virtualización de programas.
