Along these lines, economic prosperity has been linked to accountability and leveraged as the major approach to reforming education and teacher education in the United States by "holding teacher education accountable" ([2], [3]). They employ an abolitionist critique of teacher education to demonstrate how and why problematic structures must be dismantled, concluding with lessons that can guide teacher education programs and teacher educators in the necessary work of growing abolition.
