Abstract: The article discusses four key action that can prepare students for lifetime of continuous and autonomous learning. It discusses emergence of new technologies like artificial intelligence, metaverse which continue to change teaching environment, therefore it is necessary for educators to help students in prioritizing self-directed learning, and identify key skills associated with self-directed learning and map them out across grade levels.
