Abstract: The art of logistics distribution involves various stages from the time of supply until the finished product reaches its final consumer [1]. This part of the supply chain process projects, executes and controls circulation, information and storage of the goods and services efficiently and effectively, with the firm purpose of satisfying the needs and requirements of the client [2]. This article begins with a timeline of logistics distribution evolution and changes. Then, the processes that influence the distribution of goods are described in broad strokes, mainly the transport in their different modalities and the costs derived from storage, based on the literature, it ends with a discussion about the added value of logistics in Colombia.
