Abstract: The paper presents the five variables higher order shear deformation model for bending analysis of sandwich plate under uniformly line load using radial basis function (RBF) based mesh free method. The governing differential equations (GDEs) is obtained using energy principle. Multiquadric RBF (MQRBF) is used to discretize GDEs. The present results are compared with the available 3D elasticity solutions and the other results available in the literature. The effect of transverse loads with location of applied load, stiffness ratio 'R', and the core thickness to plate thickness ratio is studied. Some new results for sandwich plate considered which may serve as a benchmark for future investigations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
