Abstract: The article analyzes detriments to the safety of African Americans in a colonial carceral diaspora including perversity of criminalization, sexual corrections, and connection-making in a death world. Topics discussed include reliance of the prison on the notions of sex and gender, alignment of imprisonment with forced labor and productivity, sex-segregated incarceration, queer site of the prison and the roots of colonial oppression, racialization and racism, or political repression.
