Abstract (English): The objective of the article is to expose the theoretical foundations of the Methodological Strategy for the professional training of the students of the Criminal Education profile in the Bachelor of Law career for the Minint. For its preparation, it was necessary to consider the relationship established between social demands, curricular design and professional training. Different definitions of curricular design are analyzed, which vary, according to the criteria of the authors consulted; Based on their analysis, they identify elements that constitute regularity in correspondence with their functions, to collect the educational intentions for which society has chosen and serve as a guide to guide pedagogical practice. Based on the sources consulted, the curricular design makes it possible to determine the qualities to be achieved by the graduate and the organizational structure of the teaching process, at the level of the career and subordinate units. Abstract (Spanish): El objetivo del artículo es exponer los fundamentos teóricos de la Estrategia Metodológica para la formación profesional de los estudiantes del perfil Educación Penal en la carrera Licenciatura en Derecho para el Ministerio del Interior en el contexto cubano. Para su confección fue necesario el planteamiento de la relación que se establece entre las exigencias sociales, el diseño curricular y la formación profesional. Se analizan diferentes definiciones de diseño curricular, las que varían, según criterios de los autores consultados; a partir de su análisis, identifican elementos que constituyen regularidad en correspondencia con sus funciones, de recoger las intenciones educativas por las que ha optado la sociedad y servir de guía para orientar la práctica pedagógica. A partir de las fuentes consultadas, el diseño curricular, posibilita determinar las cualidades a alcanzar por el egresado y la estructura organizacional del proceso docente, a nivel de la carrera y unidades subordinadas.
