Abstract (English): The article analyzes the selection policy for university professors in Spain from 1983 to 2023. It examines the evolution of hiring processes and the role of quality agencies. The criticisms of the selection system and how they were attempted to be addressed through the Organic Law of Universities of 2001 are discussed. The topic of accreditations and access to university careers is also addressed, as well as the evaluation of research and the use of the Journal Impact Factor. Doubts are raised about the allocation of positions and the selection of qualified lists in the draw of access commissions. The article concludes that it is possible to improve the research evaluation system in Spain. [Extracted from the article]
Abstract (Spanish): El artículo analiza la política de selección del profesorado universitario en España desde 1983 hasta 2023. Se examina la evolución de los procesos de contratación y el papel de las agencias de calidad. Se discuten las críticas al sistema de selección y cómo se intentó abordarlas a través de la Ley Orgánica de Universidades de 2001. También se aborda el tema de las acreditaciones y el acceso a la carrera universitaria, así como la evaluación de la investigación y el uso del Journal Impact Factor. Se plantean dudas sobre la adjudicación de plazas y la selección de las listas cualificadas en el sorteo de las comisiones de acceso. El artículo concluye que es posible mejorar el sistema de evaluación de la investigación en España. [Extracted from the article]
