| Abstract: | Picture books and elementary education bookend one another. Getting those books as an instructional tool into the hands of teacher candidates (TCs) and their elementary student-teaching classrooms is the focus of our fiveyear collaboration. Scripps-Hoekstra and Hamilton (2016) reviewed 30 years of literature on collaboration between education faculty and librarians and identified three roles: librarian-as-reference, librarian-as-consultant, and librarian-as-instructor. As an undergraduate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) elementary education teacher educator (TE) and librarian liaison (LL) to education, we collaborate across all three, working together to empower our TC's confidence in teaching STEM with beautiful picture-perfect books.
