Abstract: The article "Changes in information seeking patterns of medical students in the social media and artificial intelligence age: preliminary findings" published in Clinical Teacher discusses how medical students are increasingly using non-traditional sources like social media and large language models for learning. A survey of 273 medical students found that 79.1% used social media or online video platforms for educational purposes, with benefits including quick access to medical knowledge and visually appealing resources. While 52.2% of students used large language models, concerns were raised about the reliability of medical information on social media.
