Abstract (English): Football is a sport that carries a high risk of injury. In this sense, the objective of this article is to propose legal guidelines for FIFA in the event of sports injuries in professional football, in order to safeguard the rights of footballers. The aim is to determine how injuries are handled legally in professional players, analyzing the various FIFA guidelines in defense of these rights when sports injuries occur. In addition, a review of the existing legislation on the matter will be carried out to identify how those affected are compensated and the future of players and their families is protected, detecting possible legal loopholes through analytical methods. The results reveal that most of the measures focus on the prevention and treatment of injuries, but there is a lack of legal instruments that ensure economic protection for players in the event that their career is affected. Therefore, guidelines must be proposed that oblige clubs to offer social protection to those players whose sporting continuity is interrupted, ensuring that this does not affect their income and the livelihood of their families. Abstract (Spanish): El fútbol es un deporte que conlleva un alto riesgo de lesiones. En este sentido, el objetivo de este artículo es proponer directrices jurídicas para la FIFA ante la ocurrencia de lesiones deportivas en el fútbol profesional, con el fin de salvaguardar los derechos de los futbolistas. Se busca determinar cómo es el manejo jurídico de las lesiones en los jugadores profesionales, analizando las diversas directrices de la FIFA en defensa de estos derechos cuando ocurren lesiones deportivas. Además, se realizará una revisión de la legislación existente sobre el asunto para identificar cómo se indemniza a los afectados y se protege el futuro de los jugadores y sus familias, detectando posibles vacíos legales mediante métodos analíticos. Los resultados revelan que la mayoría de las medidas se enfocan en la prevención y tratamiento de lesiones, pero hay una falta de instrumentos jurídicos que aseguren protección económica a los jugadores en caso de que su carrera se vea afectada. Por ello, se deben proponer directrices que obliguen a los clubes a ofrecer protección social a aquellos jugadores cuya continuidad deportiva sea interrumpida, asegurando que esto no afecte sus ingresos y el sustento de sus familias. Abstract (Portuguese): O futebol é um esporte que apresenta alto risco de lesões. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste artigo é propor diretrizes legais para a FIFA em caso de lesões esportivas no futebol profissional, a fim de salvaguardar os direitos dos jogadores de futebol. Procura determinar como se dá a gestão jurídica das lesões em jogadores profissionais, analisando as diversas diretrizes da FIFA na defesa desses direitos quando ocorrem lesões esportivas. Além disso, será realizada uma revisão da legislação existente sobre o assunto para identificar como os afetados são compensados e o futuro dos jogadores e suas famílias é protegido, detectando possíveis lacunas legais através de métodos analíticos. Os resultados revelam que a maior parte das medidas centra-se na prevenção e tratamento de lesões, mas faltam instrumentos legais que garantam proteção económica aos jogadores caso a sua carreira seja afetada. Portanto, devem ser propostas orientações que obriguem os clubes a oferecer protecção social aos jogadores cuja continuidade desportiva seja interrompida, garantindo que isso não afecte os seus rendimentos e a subsistência das suas famílias.
