Abstract (English): Floats have been fundamental in festivities, encompassing social, political, religious, and cultural aspects. This study compiles photographic evidence of their evolution from the Renaissance to modern times, focusing on their significance and influence. A qualitative approach was employed with a bibliographic review in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The analysis followed seven stages proposed by Peña (2022). The results show a clear evolution in the uses and modes of presentation of floats over time. This evolution has helped define the society and historical periods in which they were used, as well as the meaning attributed to them. Thus, it is possible to better understand the legacy that floats have left in history. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Los carros alegóricos han sido fundamentales en festividades, abarca aspectos sociales, políticos, religiosos y culturales. Este estudio recopila evidencias fotográficas de su evolución desde el renacimiento hasta la modernidad, enfocándose en su significado e influencia. Se empleó un enfoque cualitativo con revisión bibliográfica en inglés, español y portugués. El análisis siguió siete etapas propuestas por Peña (2022). Los resultados muestran una clara evolución de usos y modos de presentación de los carros a lo largo del tiempo, esta evolución ha permitido definir la sociedad y los períodos históricos en los que se utilizaban, así como el significado que se les otorgaba. De esta manera, se puede comprender mejor el legado que han dejado los carros alegóricos en la historia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
