Abstract (English): The objective of this article is to analyze the discussion about teachers' autonomy in the School Technical Councils of elementary and middle school education in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico. To do so, a qualitative approach was used; and the didactic, social and organizational and managerial dimensions that are developed in the teaching autonomy of these Councils were analyzed by means of observation. The results show that the teachers' attitude and group work contribute to the development of greater autonomy in the design and implementation of didactic strategies for the resolution of a specific problem. The authors conclude that the key points of teachers' autonomy are the didactic dimension and the way in which the teacher contextualizes learning, and that experience and training are key elements for its development. Abstract (Spanish): El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la discusión sobre la autonomía docente en los Consejos Técnicos Escolares de educación básica en el estado de Tlaxcala, México. Para ello se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo; a través de la observación, se analizaron las dimensiones didáctica, social y organizativa y de gestión que se desarrollan en la autonomía docente de estos Consejos. Los resultados muestran que la actitud y el trabajo grupal del profesorado contribuyen a desarrollar mayor autonomía en el diseño e implementación de estrategias didácticas para la resolución de una problemática situada. Se concluye que la autonomía del magisterio tiene como puntos clave la dimensión didáctica y la forma en que el o la docente contextualiza los aprendizajes y que la experiencia y la formación son elementos que contribuyen a desarrollarla.
