Abstract (English): Justa Ezpeleta del Huerto has developed a critical perspective on schooling which has influenced studies in the Department of Educational Research of the Cinvestav to this date. In this essay, I propose to highlight her collaboration in a project on the realities of elementary schooling and teachers' work that we co-directed during the early 1980s. I acknowledge her conceptual contribution, which recovered the important critical legacy of the Pasado y Presente group, founded in Córdoba, Argentina, during the sixties and seventies and continued in her exile in Mexico. I attempt to reconstruct the conceptual debates that allowed us to formulate a new object of knowledge, focused on the confluence of the social processes that unfold in schools, which capture its complexity and historicity. I describe some findings which these new concepts helped us achieve. Finally, I pose some questions regarding the relevance of this perspective for understanding educational realities that have changed considerably since those years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Justa Ezpeleta del Huerto ha desarrollado una perspectiva crítica hacia la escolarización que ha marcado la investigación en el Departamento de Investigaciones Educativas del Centro de Investigaciones y de Estudios Avanzados hasta la fecha. En este ensayo me propongo destacar su colaboración en un proyecto que codirigimos, entre 1979 y 1986, sobre las realidades de escuelas primarias y del trabajo docente. Reconozco en particular su contribución conceptual, que recuperaba la importante herencia crítica del grupo Pasado y Presente originado en Córdoba, Argentina, durante los años sesenta, y continuado durante el exilio en México. Intento recrear los debates conceptuales que nos permitieron construir un nuevo objeto de conocimiento, centrado en la confluencia de los procesos sociales que se despliegan en las escuelas y que muestran su complejidad y su historicidad. Describo algunos de los hallazgos que estos conceptos nos permitieron lograr. Finalmente, me pregunto por la pertinencia de esta mirada para comprender realidades educativas que han cambiado considerablemente en las últimas décadas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
