Abstract: Purpose: This study aims to examine how talent development practices, employee empowerment and organisational learning influence employee retention intention in the banking sector. Design/methodology/approach: Data were gathered from 378 employees of private banks using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire. The collected data were analysed using SmartPLS software. Findings: The key findings are that employee empowerment and organisational learning mediate the relationship between talent development practices and employee retention intention. Originality/value: This study's unique contributions lie in the mediating role of employee empowerment and organisational learning between talent development practices and employee retention intention. These findings carry significant practical implications for the banking sector in Bangladesh, offering actionable insights into the importance of fostering employee empowerment and organisational learning to enhance employee retention intention.
