Abstract (English): Given the globalization of today’s society, it is necessary to adopt intercultural perspectives in all areas to achieve a social construct that includes the cultural diversity in which we develop. Intercultural dialogue must be a characteristic of people, a two-way dialogue that allows us to communicate with other cultures and, at the same time, learn from them. Therefore, it is essential that the intercultural approach be taught from an early age in schools. This work aims to develop intercultural education through music. To this end, a study was conducted with twelve teachers from the Plutarco Elías Calles Elementary School to understand their intercultural competencies and how to design new innovative strategies that contribute to the development of interculturality in basic education. Abstract (Spanish): Ante la globalización de la sociedad en la que se vive en la actualidad es necesario adoptar visiones interculturales en todos los ámbitos para lograr una construcción social en la que participe la diversidad cultural en donde nos desarrollamos, el dialogo intercultural debe ser una característica de las personas, un dialogo bidireccional que nos permita comunicarnos con las demás culturas y al mismo tiempo aprender de ellas, por eso resulta necesario que el enfoque intercultural se enseñe desde temprana edad en las escuelas. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de la educación intercultural a través de la música, para ello se realizó una investigación con doce maestros de la escuela primaria Plutarco Elías Calles, para conocer sus competencias interculturales y como poder diseñar nuevas estrategias innovadoras que aporten al desarrollo de la interculturalidad en la educación en nivel básico.
