Abstract: The article focuses on the critical role of education in addressing global challenges, emphasizing the need for transformative changes in teacher education to foster just, inclusive, and sustainable futures. It highlights the growing teacher shortage crisis and the importance of attracting and supporting diverse individuals in the teaching profession. The article critiques existing global education agendas for their idealism and calls for research that interrogates and strengthens the transformative potential of teacher education, while also advocating for innovative, interdisciplinary approaches and the inclusion of diverse epistemologies. It concludes by inviting contributions that explore various themes related to teacher development, collaboration, and the emotional aspects of teaching, aiming to inspire dialogue and action for meaningful educational reform.
