Abstract (English): This study analyzes the leadership and professional development of teachers in technical-vocational high schools in Chile and technological high schools in Mexico. It focuses on three dimensions: teaching quality, learning culture, and finally, teamwork and relationship with the community. Thanks to a mixed approach, qualitative data were collected through interviews and focus groups with management teams, and quantitative data were collected by means of a questionnaire applied to teachers in four institutions. The results show consensus between management and teaching staff on the need to strengthen the quality of teaching; regarding learning culture, the management team acknowledges pending issues, while the teaching staff considers them to have been implemented; and regarding the relationship with the community, the management team evaluates these practices as consolidated, but the teaching staff identifies possible areas for improvement. It is concluded that it is important to keep consolidating the quality of teaching. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Este estudio analiza el liderazgo y desarrollo profesional docente en liceos técnicoprofesionales de Chile y bachilleratos tecnológicos en México. Se centra en tres dimensiones: calidad de la enseñanza, cultura de aprendizaje y trabajo en equipo y relación con la comunidad. Con un enfoque mixto, se recopilaron datos cualitativos mediante entrevistas y grupos focales a equipos directivos, y cuantitativos, a través de un cuestionario aplicado a docentes de cuatro instituciones. Los resultados indican consenso entre personal directivo y docente sobre la necesidad de fortalecer la calidad de la enseñanza; en cultura de aprendizaje, el cuerpo directivo reconoce temas pendientes, mientras que el docente valora su implementación; y en la relación con la comunidad, el equipo directivo considera estas prácticas consolidadas, pero el profesorado identifica áreas de mejora.
