| Abstract (English): | International reports on education have dictated the educational model of the global context in which we find ourselves today. From this perspective, we perceive the rural school as an educational context where responses to the challenges of the 21st century must be proposed, as well as promoting global sustainable development. This work presents a case study, carried out in a grouped rural center in the province of Guadalajara (Spain), framed within the mixed methodological paradigm and based on the school ethnographic method, with a study sample of 14 teachers, to analyze their perceptions regarding the strengths, needs, and challenges of the rural school within the framework of the LOMLOE, with particular attention to its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. As the main conclusion of this study, we highlight that the rural school guarantees equal opportunities, since it is synonymous with quality in education, allowing it to contribute to the educational process of the students and facilitating comprehensive training that allows it to respond to international guidelines, as well as to the challenges that we face as a society, as referred to in current educational regulations.
